There are many degrees of sleep apnea, and when it remains undiagnosed, it adversely affects more than 5% of the general population. Symptoms of sleep apnea include morning headaches, loud snoring, daytime sleepiness, mood swings, and high blood pressure.
After purchasing your Complete Care Package from Sleep Care Online, you will have received your NightOwl home sleep test. NightOwl is the world’s smallest sleep-testing device, weighing in at only 1 ounce.
In addition to receiving your NightOwl device, you should have also received an email with set-up instructions. Be sure to save this email, as you will be using the Activation Code inside of it for the NightOwl Companion app.
How Does NightOwl Sleep Study Work?
The NightOwl sleep study detects apnea events (cessation of breath) with the help of a sensor attached to a fingertip. The home sleep study kit uses both photoplethysmography and an accelerometer to record the data related to actigraphy, blood oxygen level, peripheral arterial tone, and Apnea-Hypoapnea Index (AHI).
